Olfactory Picnic

This handcrafted walnut box, held together by a twine that wraps around two inlaid baroque pearls, is a unique artifact that transforms the concept of  'picnic.' Opening the box reveals two trays containing ten handmade unique and unmarked porcelain jars, each with an unexpected scent curated by the designer. Scent has a curious ability to transport our mind. It is magical thing, to get a whiff of your childhood bedroom on a street 3,000 miles away or of your late grandmother’s hand cream on the bus to work. The intention of this picnic is to evoke a range of emotions in the guests. The ten scents- earl grey, pencil shavings, propolis, gasoline, cardamom, burnt tobacco, orange peel, maraschino cherry, and honeysuckle take

the guests on an unexpected olfactory journey as they uncork each jar.
